Bring lunch, 2-3 quarts of water, sun and rain protection, and lug-soled shoes. “First timers" must call the leader. All participants must be in top condition, well prepared for trail conditions and will be accepted at the leader’s discretion. Hikers must be able to keep pace with the group.

Park on the street in front of the Methodist Church, 2111 Camino del Rio South (west of Texas St.). Be prepared to drive yourself if there are no other carpoolers.

Cerro der las Posas/San Elijo Hills Ridgeline, Sunset Trail to Double Peak. 6-7 miles, moderate to difficult Hike begins at 9:00 am. Expansive views in all directions. On a clear day you can see downtown San Diego, and Mexico to the south, to Mt. Baldy to the north. On a foggy, cloudy day-nothing. Rain cancells so check your email Wednesday morning after 7:00 am. Bring water, lunch (we should be back by 1 pm), snack, Comfortable shoes as there is a lot of hard surfaces.
Directions: From Hyw 78 take exit and go north on Twin Oaks Valley Rd., which turns into San Elijo Rd.`Turn north onto Elfin Forest Rd. and about 300 yards right in the parking area. ( Be careful, the parking area is hard to see.,) Mission Valley car pool 8:00 am if there is one
