Due to the hot weather in the mountains and inland, we are back to the beach. We'll be walking along the beach boardwalk from the Oceanside Amtrak station, pier, and Oceanside Harbor and back approximately 7 miles. For those interested in a bit longer hike, we will do an additional 3 miles along the beach to the south. We will meet in front of the Amtrak ticket office and leave for the hike promptly at 9:00am. Bring a snack, water, and lunch. The short group should be back at the cars around 12:30pm. Directions: The Oceanside Amtrak Station is located at 235 South Tremont St., Oceanside. From I-5 take the Mission Ave exit in Oceanside and head for the ocean. Turn left on Hill Street (South Pacific Coast Highway) then go past two streets and make a right at the third street, Michigan Ave. This will take you to the parking lots for Amtrak (free parking). We will meet in front of the Amtrak ticket office to the north-west past the Sprinter Station. The ticket office is located at the end of the main train plaza area near the tracks.
